Qian Ji is a dedicated educator and researcher with a PhD in Health Education from the Department of Health and Kinesiology at Texas A&M University. She currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Health Behavior, where she teaches a range of health-related courses. Dr. Ji's research interests are closely aligned with her teaching, covering areas such as health disparity, cultural diversity, consumer health, worksite health promotion, stress management, emotional health, human diseases, and overall well-being interventions. Her scholarship in these fields has resulted in numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, along with presentations at state, national, and international conferences.
In addition to her academic role, Dr. Ji is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and holds a leadership position in Applied Public Health Statistics (APHS) within the American Public Health Association (APHA). She also serves as the leader of POWER (Promoting Outstanding Writing for Excellence in Research), an academic writing service. Through POWER, Dr. Ji offers workshops and studios at Texas A&M and at academic conferences worldwide, where she helps students and researchers build healthy writing habits and improve their ability to communicate ideas effectively.
Dr. Ji’s teaching philosophy is rooted in caring for, supporting, and empowering students to become confident, well-prepared professionals. She believes in integrating rigorous academic content with practical experiences to ensure her students gain both theoretical knowledge and career-relevant skills. Her courses are thoughtfully designed to align with real-world professional demands, and she uses diverse teaching strategies to engage and motivate her students.
Dr. Ji also emphasizes the development of critical thinking and global perspectives, encouraging students to broaden their worldviews and critically examine the complex challenges facing the health field. She is committed to fostering a classroom environment that is both challenging and supportive, enabling students to reflect on their growth and emerge as thoughtful, capable professionals.
Through her innovative teaching, research contributions, and leadership in POWER writing, Dr. Ji continues to shape the next generation of health professionals while advancing critical conversations on health and well-being.
